World Water Day is being celebrated every year on 22nd March to sensitize and create awareness about the most precious natural resource – Water. Owing to the looming crisis, theme for the year 2021 has been aptly chosen as Valuing Water. The value we place on water be it for our environment, our society and our culture, is the spirit behind this theme.
As a part of its commitment of Bridging Science and Society, Vigyan Setu Foundation intends to celebrate the World Water Day through the creative expressions of our children – our future. We wish to see through their eyes as how do they perceive the value of water in life.
ART COMPETITION GUIDELINES
The participants:
Child artists studying in 7th – 9th standard can participate in the Art Competition to commemorate World Water Day.
The format:
The contest endeavours to bring out the best of expressions of the Child Artists. The participants can submit their artistic expressions using either of the following; Drawing or Painting on Paper using either of the medium – Oil, Water colour, Pencil, or Crayon.
The theme:
The theme of the World Water Day, for the year 2021 is Valuing Water. We intend to encourage the child artists to participate enthusiastically and present their emotions, feelings, ideas, creative and innovative thoughts on the Value of Water.
In order to make it simpler for the child artists, we are providing three sub-themes;
- Value of water for our environment
- Value of water for our society
- Value of water for our culture
Child artists can select any one of these sub-themes for creating their artwork.
The creation and submission:
Child artists are expected to create their artwork (drawing or painting) on paper, and thereafter take a high resolution photo and submit the image in either .png or .jpeg format with maximum file size of 10 Mb. Hence all artworks are to be submitted online.
After filling up the personal details, the artwork is to be uploaded before submitting the form. All personal information will be strictly used for the purpose of authentication of the child artist and artworks and shall not be used for any other purpose.
The timeline:
Art Competition opens up – 05th March 2021
Last date of submission – 15th March 2021
Announcement of the winners – 22nd March 2021
The selection:
The decision of the jury shall be binding and considered as final.
Selected artworks would be announced on the World Water Day (22nd March 2021) on our website and the winners would also be intimated individually through e-mail.
The winners will have to submit their original artwork (hard copy) through speed post or courier. All artworks submitted, selected and awarded will be the property of Vigyan Setu Foundation, for its use in any form.
Each participant would receive an e-Certificate of Participation, and the winners would receive Certificate of Merit along with a prize, in addition.
Schools submitting or forwarding more than 10 artworks of their students would be given special Certificate of Appreciation.
Please remember: any form of indecent and obscene portrayal of women and/or child, nudity, animal brutality, direct or indirect hate, anti-national, anti-government expressions / visuals, sensitive to all religions, caste, creed and ethnicity is strictly prohibited.
